High profile leadership role with both management and technical inputs Opportunity to lead and make a significant contribution to an internationally recognised project in the Making Markets Work for the Poor (M4P) sector Propcom Mai-Karfi is a six year DFID funded (£25m) programme that aims to increase the
incomes of poor men and women in northern Nigeria by: (a) stimulating sustainable, pro-poor growth in selected rural markets; and, (b) improving the position of poor men and women within these market systems, to make them more inclusive for poor people. GRM International manages the programme on behalf of DFID. The programme will promote improvements in up to eight market systems that have the potential to create sustainable economic opportunity for the poor. These are likely to include: fertilizer, tractors, seed, soy, soap, grain storage and poultry. The programme started in January 2012 and is already fully operational. GRM international is hiring a Team Leader to lead and provide strategic direction for the management of Propcom Mai-karfi and successful delivery of services as outlined in the client Head Contract. The Team Leader will be responsible for the management of the programme, client relationship and reporting, personnel, stakeholders, finance and procurement and administration. Propcom Mai-karfi is one of DFID's flagship Making Markets Work for the Poor (M4P) projects. This is an opportunity to lead and make a significant contribution to an internationally recognised project. You will demonstrate: Relevant education background in agriculture, economics or related field; At least 10 years' experience in a senior management position, including in large donor funded international development projects, preferably including DFID and in client facing roles; Successful track-record in delivery of complex programmes/projects and development of institutional capacity; Strong technical track record in private sector development and in particular knowledge and credibility in the field of market development/making markets work for the poor (M4P); Excellent leadership, management and organisational skills, able to provide thought leadership to the market facilitation and evidence and learning teams; Strong representation, interpersonal and communication skills; Experience working in post-conflict or fragile states; Experience working in Nigeria an advantage; Ability to work in a cross cultural environment.
