A Nursery & Primary School in Victoria Island requires for immediate employment an experienced Primary school teacher as its head of school.
Job Title: Head of Primary School
Responsibilities
- The Head of Primary School will report directly to the Head of School and will be responsible for:
- the day-to-day management of the Primary School within the spirit of the school's Mission Statement;
- the development of the primary years curriculum.
- undertaking the professional appraisal of all teaching colleagues, following the agreed school-wide policy laid down by the Head of School;
- supporting teaching colleagues in their different roles and undertaking disciplinary measures where appropriate;
- advising the Head of School on Primary School staffing, budgetary and facilities needs;
- recruiting Primary School teachers in close collaboration with the Head of School;
- controlling and maximising the use of assigned staff,the allocated Primary School budget, and the use of Primary School facilities;
- working closely with other Heads of School, particularly in the development of and coordinating the school-wide schedule and the use of facilities;
- maintaining a friendly, open, supportive but firm relationship with parents and their representativesin the spirit of the school’s Mission Statement;
- providing a support programme for those students who have educational needs;
- meeting with other Heads on a regular basis, consulting with them on matters of curriculum design,the development of school-wide policy manuals, student welfare, teaching resources, the physical development ofthe campus, relationships with the local community, etc;
- meeting regularly with teaching staff and involving them directly in aspects of curriculum design, behavioural expectations for students, their daily routines and the school’s expectations of them, the timetable, and the future development of the primary school in its widest context;
- Co-ordinate the activities of the teachers and non teaching staff
Past experience as Head Teacher is required.
Bsc Degree in relevant field
