 About the Organization:
The concerned organization is a new Secretariat that is being established by a Financial Services Regulator in Abuja, Nigeria. The Secretariat will support the implementation of a financial services program for the low income population, and perform the data gathering, analysis, and management functions.

About the Job:
The Financial Services Regulator is seeking a Strategy Coordination Manager for the Secretariat. S/he will ensure that the strategy and newly established priorities are addressed by the relevant stakeholders both within the Regulator and other external agencies. S/he will report to the head of the secretariat.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

  •     Work in collaboration with the head of the secretariat to identify barriers and opportunities relating to the implementation of the program;
  •     Offer recommendations and provide in-house advisory services (grounded in discussions with the technical committees) to ensure progress of the program;
  •     Initiate coordinated action at all levels, by recommending initiatives to be undertaken by relevant departments and stakeholders;
  •     Oversee the implementation and project management of the program's targets, whilst ensuring that interventions are focused on critical issues in line with the program's objectives;
  •     Conduct complex research and analysis, support the head of the secretariat in the preparation of accurate, substantive reports, and ensure that the findings are disseminated to stakeholders;
  •     Prepare quarterly project monitoring plans and ensure their distribution to the appropriate stakeholders;
  •     Communicate the objectives of the program and ensure that they are fully understood by the relevant internal and external stakeholders.

Qualifications:
  •     Master's degree is essential, in addition to a first degree in Business, Finance, Agriculture, Economics, International Development and other related disciplines;
  •     Minimum of 10 years of experience within the financial or development sector, 7 of which should be in a similar function at a senior management level;
  •     Experience in developing and executing organizational strategies;
  •     Strong knowledge and a proven track record in the financial services sectors and working with low income population, e.g. microfinance, SME financing, retail banking, etc.;
  •     Excellent financial management, analytical, and project management skills;
  •     Experience in developing and implementing strategic plans;
  •     Excellent leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills, with the ability to build and manage positive and productive relationships with multiple external stakeholders as well as internal departments;
  •     Advanced knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite;
  •     Proficiency in statistical software packages is a plus.
